“I was born in Nagykanizsa. I didn’t know my parents as I got into state care when I was born. I was raised in the Children´s Home in Nagykanizsa until I was 18. Then I came to Budapest to find a job and it was very different here. I spent a lot of time at the same place earlier, I had a really good relationship with one of my caretakers, I got a lot of love and support from her. I still keep in touch with Marika. Unfortunately, I experienced some bad things in the children´s home because there was a caretaker who even spat on me sometimes, I don’t even know why really because it was long time ago. Once I was even beaten, I hit my head and it was bleeding. But the best was when I could be with Marika, of course, I got little presents from her and I felt that she gave them wholeheartedly and great love.”
“Have you had any desire or aspiration to find your parents?”
“I’m like, as they didn’t want to raise me then they are surely not curious about me and I do not want to look for them. Fortunately, I have friends in the institute, we went to holy mass, we took care of each other, and we really understood each other with Kata, who was my best friend. I still talk to her. I have worked here in Budapest in several places, for example, I served in a fastfood restaurant, I did dishes, I did cleaning and I worked in a hotel for a month, where I had to work at night but unfortunately it was difficult for me.”
“What plans do you have?”
“I want to study and afterwards I would like to work on a social field. I have experience with that. I think I would know how to handle the people who fight with problems, who need help and support.”
“What is your dream?”
“I’ve wanted to get to Transylvania for a long time, as I’ve heard about Csaba Böjte, the saint´s day in Csíksomlyó, and well, the beautiful sight. I would like to go and see what kind of place that is.”
